You might have a new concept, an existing product that's outgrown, or a system that is hard to keep up. These different needs are the basis for our custom software development services. From introducing new products to updating existing applications, replacing aging technology or bringing on a new team of developers, we offer the technical support needed to get the project going.
New Software Product Development
Have an idea that cannot be delivered properly with existing software? We can aid in making it a viable digital product, from initial technical direction to a production-ready release. From startups to established companies and product teams, we assemble software for a clear purpose, a sound technical backbone, and enough flexibility to adapt to the changing market and user environment.
MVP Development
An MVP should reduce time spent on developing features that haven't been tested yet and provide a tangible product to show users. We help determine the smallest possible release of the product, the most important feature set for the initial release, and create that release with the implications of future development in mind. It provides a hands-on approach to testing demand, collecting feedback, and determining what to do next.
SaaS Product Development
We develop software products for multiple customers that are shared across the user base and experience. This covers everything from accounts and subscriptions, plans, billing, use caps, tenant separation, permissions, to continuous releases. We can tailor the platform to suit the way you want to sell and run it, whether you're creating a new SaaS business or converting a service into a software product.
Product Rebuild and Feature Expansion
Many often find that the product they have isn't doing enough for them and want it to do more; however, the present product version is not quite easy to change. We work to continue the product without compromising on what works. This might involve the addition of significant functionality, enhancing a key aspect of the user experience, swapping out poor components or rebuilding specific portions of the product while leaving the rest of the product intact for the user.
Software Re-Platforming and Migration
Sometimes it is the right product, but the wrong technical underpinning. When the existing application, database, cloud environment or infrastructure is limiting, we assist with transitioning to an application that is better suited to a different one of these. Plan the migration, move data, update dependencies and integrations, etc., and manage the transition without causing disruption to the business while the technology changes under it.
Dedicated Software Development Teams
If your roadmap is larger than your team, we can add dedicated developers or entire product teams to join your team. The team can be a supporting team for a particular product, a team that owns a particular technical area, a team that can help solve a development backlog, or a team that acts as an extension of your existing engineering team. This model is suitable if you require more capacity but don't want to establish a new internal group.
Custom Software Support and Long-Term Development
Certain products require a development partner long after their initial release. Continuous support for software that requires periodic updates, enhancements, new releases, security and further development is supplied. Its emphasis is on maintaining product reliability and enabling its development to meet the changing requirements of the business.
AI-Integrated Custom Software
We apply AI to software when there is a clear task to be done. This can range from pulling data from files, boosting search capabilities, idea generation, prediction, or performing specific tasks within the organization via AI bots. We do not use AI as a standalone tool but integrate with the product's existing data, permissions, and workflows for an AI-driven solution that is controlled and useful.
Businesses usually come to us with a specific business problem, a process that needs improvement, or a product they want to bring to market. These solution types represent the kinds of software systems we build to solve those problems. A single project can combine several of them into one connected platform.
Internal Operations and Workflow Platforms
These systems allow teams to keep the business running with the work. They can handle approvals, assignments, scheduling, inventory movement, resource planning, case handling, and more. The value lies in the ability to convert a business process to software, even the rules, exceptions, permissions and reporting that are generic in most tools.
Customer-Facing and Self-Service Platforms
Digital products are those used directly by customers to book, purchase, handle accounts, submit information, view documents or request service. The foundational experience and functionality are created based on actual customer behavior, such as account management, payments, notifications, uploads, and support procedures. The aim is to enable key customer interactions to be completed without manual intervention.
Big Data, Analytics and Reporting Platforms
Many businesses have tons of data but little ability to integrate it into a meaningful way. We create platforms that integrate data from operational systems, databases and outside sources into a structured environment for reporting and analysis. They can deliver dashboards, business metrics, trend analysis, operational reporting and predictive insight - allowing teams to work from up-to-the-minute information rather than disparate exports.
Enterprise Resource and Financial Systems
For some organizations, software that synchronizes key resources such as finance, procurement, people, assets, budgeting, or other resources across departments is required. We create systems that are based on the company's rules for approvals, ownership, access, records, and reporting. These platforms can be extremely helpful when trying to find a balance between what the organization does and the compromises made in the implementation of standard ERP or financial products.
Communication and Collaboration Platforms
With work-linked communication, there can be gaps in communication that leave out valuable context in every conversation, file, and separate system. We develop purpose-built team, client, partner, or community collaboration software where conversations must be linked to the work. This can be a structured dialogue, shared documents, notifications, activity history, and links to other business systems, depending on usage.
Compliance and Industry-Specific Systems
Other software will need to cater for needs that are specific to the industry, the data or how the business functions. Access controls, audit records, data handling and traceability and other requirements need to be incorporated into the system itself and we build systems for such areas as finance, manufacturing, education, healthcare and others. From the outset, the software is designed to fit with the relevant operating and compliance requirements.
AI-Powered and Intelligent Platforms
For some products, it is not an additional feature, but an integral part of the product's value. They can be document intelligence, predictive systems, recommendation engines, quality inspection, forecasting and AI-assisted decision support. We develop the application, data streams, monitoring, controls and review processes that enable those AI capabilities to be implemented in a real business context.
Integration and Middleware Platforms
If the important information systems must share information but none of the systems can reliably share information on its own, an integration layer can be used without replacing anything. We create middleware and integration platforms, which are a crucial part of the system that enable data communication between applications, connect data and ensure that it moves in a standardized way, manage API communication and deliver events or scheduled data transfers.
Have a Software Requirement in Mind?
Tell us what you need to build, improve, or replace, and we will help shape the right solution.
Good software development starts with understanding what problem needs to be solved before even thinking about how to create the software. And our process gives each project a clear direction while leaving room to adjust when we learn something new.
So whether we are developing a new product, upgrading a system or replacing old infrastructure, we always keep the work organized, transparent and tightly connected with the goals of your business.
First, we learn about the business of the software. We talk about your objectives, users, what's already in place, what problems you're facing, and what the software should do. Technical requirements, Integrations, Data, Security needs, and any limitations that may impact the project are also considered. At the end of this stage, we have a better understanding of what is to be constructed and why.
With our understanding of the requirements, we transform them into a feasible development plan. Core features, user roles, technical requirements, project priorities and major dependencies are defined. We also help to distinguish between features that should be included in the initial release and those that can be included subsequently. This will help to maintain the initial scope and to provide a realistic picture of what's coming.
We model the software's future usage before development starts. This involves user journeys, screen structure, navigation, wireframes and interactive prototypes, if necessary. Then, the visual design of a product and its users is developed. This is the time to test significant flows, which is easier than testing after the development has begun.
Once we have decided on the direction of the product, our engineers develop the application from the start. This includes front end, back end, databases, APIs, integrations, etc. that the product requires. The architecture and technology stack are determined by the actual needs, taking into account factors such as performance, security, maintainability, and scalability.
All software should function properly independently and in conjunction with other components. Our QA team tests features, user flows, integrations, permissions, handling, data, performance and compatibility. We do automated testing and manual testing to detect expected faults and unexpected faults in actual use. If problems are discovered during testing are then addressed and retested prior to release.
Preparing the production environment, configuring required infrastructure, doing final checks, and ensuring a safe release. Staged releases or controlled rollout (depending on the project) can be implemented instead of switching everything at once. Additionally, we establish monitoring and other operational safety measures to enable the team to observe the software performance after launch.
After the software goes live, we will keep working with your team depending on the requirements. As the product evolves, we can do maintenance, fix bugs, fix security issues, enhance performance, and add new features. The software is also continually enhanced based on feedback, usage data, and evolving business needs to ensure its relevance and value beyond its initial appearance.

Share your business requirements and explore a software approach suited to your industry.
Our selection of technology depends on your product's needs, how it will be used, and what may be required in the future. We don't impose a strict tech stack on all our projects, but build projects using modern frontend, backend, mobile, database, cloud and AI technologies.
Frontend Development
Fast, responsive web applications built with React, Next.js, Vue and Angular. This depends on its complexity, SEO requirements, performance, and the technology landscape in place, among other considerations.
Mobile Development
We also support Cross-platform development, using Flutter and React Native, to share development between iOS and Android. When there is a need for deeper platform access or native performance, we also support Swift and Kotlin.
Backend Development
Our back-end teams are skilled in multiple programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java and many more. NET to write APIs, application logic and server-side systems. The platform is chosen depending on various factors including workload, integrations, security needs, and long-term maintenance.
Databases and Data Storage
Application data is stored and managed in PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB. Relational databases are suitable for structured and related data, and document databases may be beneficial for data that requires a more flexible structure. For applications that require fast caching or session management, Redis can be deployed alongside.
Cloud and Infrastructure
Build and deploy applications on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. We leverage services for compute, storage, databases, networking, monitoring, scaling, etc., as necessary for the project but not unnecessarily building additional infrastructure.
Containers and DevOps
Docker and Kubernetes enable us to package and deploy applications consistently in both our development and production environments. We also leverage the CI/CD pipelines to streamline the build, test, and deploy process, allowing for easier releases to manage and repeat.
AI and Machine Learning
We use technologies including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cutting-edge LLM APIs when AI is integrated into the product. We map these capabilities to the application's data and processes, taking into account performance, reliability, security and business usage.
APIs and Third-Party Technologies
Most software these days doesn't operate in isolation. So if a product has to interact with other systems or leverage external functions, we use third-party APIs, payment services, business platforms, authentication providers and other technologies.
A fully-stacked in-house engineering team is not necessary for every company to get a software project off the ground. So whether you're launching a new product, growing your platform, or managing a larger development project, we have dedicated developers and supporting specialists who can work as an extension of your team.

Your team provided by Agicent can work alongside your existing staff and scale as your project changes. You can start with the development capacity you need today, then add developers or specialist support when the roadmap grows, without committing to a larger team than the work requires.
We have created industry-specific software solutions ranging from AI-driven workforce applications to compliance-driven production systems. A few of those builds, with the problem, the approach, and the measurable outcome, are below.
Tide360 brought to us a simple yet bold vision: to build an AI-powered Business Operating System that can do real work within the walls of a business. Its objective was to enable AI agents to be effective team members, rather than just answering questions, to execute executive support, financial operations, and performance tasks.
We created AI workers, all with specific tasks, context awareness and actions. Like Charlotte takes care of executive support, Ethan is in charge of financial operations, and Alex is responsible for performance coaching.
Platform development was done with React, Laravel and MySQL, with n8n taking care of workflows and BotPress for conversational AI. We also connected GoHighLevel CRM and a custom Voice AI agent for calls.
Right from the beginning, the architecture is kept modular to enable new agents and integrations to be added without impacting the live platform. With 25+ businesses in a pilot, users have reported saving 8 to 12 hours per employee/week, reducing administrative workload by up to 70% and ROI reported at 3-4 times.
Scowtt came to us with a simple question: could AI help sales and marketing teams identify which leads were actually worth pursuing? We joined as their product design and engineering team and completed the MVP in four months, providing Scowtt with a base to move forward with predictive lead scoring and automated sales decisions.
It was developed using Next.js, Node.js, Google Cloud and AWS Lambda for scale and cost control of infrastructure. To address this, we chose to build their internal LML model and integrate it with Salesforce, HubSpot, and Zoho's own CRM to utilize first-party behavioral and CRM data for better prediction accuracy and control of data.
Now the platform acts as an AI SDR, which scores and identifies leads for paid ad and outbound campaigns. Purchases ROAS rose by 59% for customers such as LaserAway and 64% for Advanced Hair Restoration. In December 2025, Scowtt closed a $12M Series A funding round.
IRTH approached us with a maternity-care review website that was too big for the original app. Maintaining its native iOS and Android apps was becoming increasingly difficult and the team was looking for new features without losing customers and their data. We supported the rebuild of the product on a more scalable technical basis.
We rebuilt the consumer app as a single cross-platform product, utilizing React Native and Node.js, and took care to migrate the existing data. We also created an admin console, which not only allowed the Irth team to control users, content and moderation but also eliminated the need for their reliance on the developers for daily updates.
By moving to a single codebase, it also became much easier for the team to roll out enhancements on a sprint-by-sprint basis rather than having to maintain two different native apps. The redesigned application then made it to the top of iTunes and Apple's Featured App lists, as well as receiving excellent reviews from both app stores.
Irth is now used by thousands of people around the world and is used for community-led reviews of childbirth and pediatrics services, with multilingual capabilities.
Have a Complex Software Project?
Tell us about the challenge and we will explore the right technical approach with you.
There is no point in arguing otherwise about the speed of getting up and running and the initial cost of the software when the off-the-shelf option prevails. The trade-off becomes apparent later, when the tool doesn't meet the business's needs because of limitations: a workflow that can't be set up as the team works, pricing that penalizes growth because it's per seat, and a data structure that makes it impossible to integrate with something the business needs without a workaround.
Where Off-the-Shelf Software Genuinely Wins
For a common, well-defined workflow, an existing tool is often the right call, and we would say so even in a sales conversation. Self-built systems for standard accounting, generic project tracking, and a simple CRM for a small team usually do not make sense, as the problem is already very well solved and has been refined for several years.
This is the straightforward indication that out-of-the-box is still the best choice: Your staff is not creating workarounds, and the pricing mechanism remains reasonable for your existing and upcoming staffing levels.
Where the Cracks Start Showing
These constraints come one by one in a predictable sequence. First, a process-centric approach becomes distorted to fit the tool's assumptions, rather than the tool being designed to fit the process, and then someone prepares a spreadsheet hack to fill the void.
Then, per-seat pricing begins to ramp up at a faster rate than its worth, particularly as a company reaches a point at which each additional employee costs more in licensing fees than the software generates in value.
The vendor never intended to have the tool's data structure open and eventually, an integration that the business needs is found to be impossible without the cost of a middleware layer.
Custom Software: What You Gain, What It Costs
It's a true trade-off, but upfront and up-front software costs more and takes longer to launch. Instead, it provides for the architecture that aligns with the business's current reality, 100% ownership of the code, data, and space to grow the system as the business grows and evolves, without the limits of a vendor's product roadmap or licensing tier.
So it's important to keep in mind that the right one is a workflow based on the shape of the problem you are solving, which is rarely going to last long in any other template than the one that suits your business's workflow, even if it fits in year one
| Factor | Off-the-Shelf Software | Custom Software |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | Lower, often a monthly subscription | Higher, project-based investment |
| Time to launch | Fast, days to weeks | Longer, weeks to months depending on scope |
| Fit to your workflow | Generic, requires adapting your process | Built to match your exact process |
| Scalability | Often capped by licensing tiers or seat limits | Scales with your architecture, not a vendor's pricing |
| Integration flexibility | Limited to what the vendor supports | Built to integrate with any system you need |
| Data ownership | Vendor controls the data structure | You own the code, data and infrastructure |
| Long-term cost | Recurring fees that grow with usage and headcount | Higher initial spend, lower long-term ceiling |
| Customization over time | Limited to what the vendor's roadmap allows | Extends freely as your business changes |
| Compliance control | Dependent on vendor's certifications | Built to your exact regulatory requirements |
| Best suited for | Common, well-defined workflows | Workflows specific to your business |
Custom software pricing is not a flat rate, but is dependent on scope, integration complexity, compliance requirements and team composition. A simple internal tool with a few user roles is a lot more cost-effective than one that is meant to integrate with six other systems when it comes to compliance with financial and patient data.
The factors that really move the needle
Scope and feature complexity: Fewer screens to design, build, and test, and the cost of a single purpose, internal tool is less than a multi-role platform with dashboards, reporting and administrative controls.
Integration count: Data mapping and error-handling, authentication, etc., with each third-party system a platform needs to communicate with is an additional compounding effort, not linear.
Compliance requirements: Noticeable price differences between two platforms of similar size are due to the fact that the audit logging and access controls, encryption, etc. features "required" by HIPAA, PCI-DSS and other standards are not required by an ordinary internal tool.
Team composition: The price of a fully staffed project with a backend, a frontend, a QA, and a dedicated project lead is higher than a lean 2-developer project, but the project moves faster, and there is less risk on a complex system where a wrong move comes at a high cost to unravel later.
Design and UX depth: A well-designed, tested user interface, which is based on real usage patterns, will take more design and testing hours than a simple functional internal tool with usability being only secondary.
How does the price get to you?
There are four components to a budget on a custom build
And the Investment actually buys
What the number actually represents is code you own (not licensed) and which has no usage cap, per-seat pricing, and which doesn't need replacing in 2 years the second time the business outgrows the previous off-the-shelf tool.
The only way to get a real price is with a scoping conversation, as anybody who quotes a price without understanding your workflow is just guessing, and a guess is not a budget that you should plan against.
The selection of the development partner is the bigger decision than the tech stack, as the wrong partner can make an idea that is well-scoped, a year of change requests and missed deadlines. 16 years in this business has actually taught us the following and that's why it changes the way working with us looks.
In-House Team, Not a Broker
There are plenty of agencies out there that sell development services and then pass off the actual development to a subcontracted team you never see. That's not how we do it here.
The engineers that scope your project during discovery are the same engineers that write the code, run the QA and be on the calls when decisions need to be made in a hurry. That continuity is more significant than it sounds: When a requirement is discussed in a room, the same developer makes it correctly the first time, rather than the developer whose job is to understand the project's specification through a project manager.
16 Years of Mistakes We have already Made
All agencies have a learning curve, and that's the difference. Since 2010, we've been developing software, so all the software architecture mistakes, unexpected integrations and scope creep headaches that come with first-time projects are terrain we've already traversed.
That experience also comes in smaller doses: real timelines versus optimistically projected ones; questions raised in discovery versus assumed in development; a scoping process that sets flags for risk before it turns into a missed deadline.
A Track Record that Withstands the Test of Time
We have shipped 1000+ products across the board, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS and FERPA-compliant products like HealthTech, FinTech, and EdTech, so requirements for those compliances are not a learning curve on your project; they are familiar ground.
We maintain a 98% satisfaction rate across our client base, which is an indicator of responsibility for every engagement and not just for the ones that are successful. That's also one of the reasons why a significant portion of our new projects are referred and not sales-initiated.
Access to the People Who are Building Your Software
Layers of account management exist to ensure an agency's margin, not to rush your project. The structure is flat - you communicate directly with the engineers and architects building your platform, and decisions are made at the pace of a conversation, not the pace of an email status update chain that takes three people to get to the bottom of it and to someone who can actually make the change in the code.
Engineering Discipline that Does Not Disappear after Launch
A working prototype is not production software, and differences between it and production software become evident in security, load handling and maintainability years later. Code Review, Automated Testing and Documentation are not optional extras - they are a standard part of our code building, so when you launch your system, you'll be able to maintain it without having to reverse-engineer all the decisions made in its creation.
Let's Talk About Your Software Project
Share your idea or business challenge and let our team help you plan the next step.
Timelines vary based on scope, but the initial production-ready version of a project typically takes 8-20 weeks, with longer timelines for enterprise systems depending on integration count and compliance requirements.
The scope, integrations, compliance requirements and team composition will have a significant impact on the cost, not the other way round, hence the need to scope before a quotation.
You do. No licensing requirement on Agicent after handover - source code, architecture and documentation are yours for free.
