Why Businesses Choose Agicent

Finding the right web design company is a lot like hiring a contractor. Anyone can show you a portfolio, but the real difference is in how well they handle the details behind the scenes. So let's see what makes our approach different.

1

In-House Team, Not a Subcontractor Chain

Design, development, QA and support all in one place! Feedback is delivered to the person creating your website, not an account manager or a time zone-different freelancer. That's one structure that eliminates most of the delays customers experience from other agencies and ensures everyone is held to the same timeline.

In-House Team
17-Plus Years of Pattern Recognition
2

17-Plus Years of Pattern Recognition

We’ve designed for healthcare portals, marketplaces for real estate, SaaS dashboards, fitness apps and retail storefronts. Web design pitfalls are also typically industry specific, and a team that's only built restaurant sites makes different assumptions than one that's built a patient portal. Ours has seen enough categories to know which assumptions hold.

3

Fixed-Price Clarity

No hidden fees and no scope creep billed later as unforeseen complexity. We quote you for what you need, explain why, don't get you to sign anything, and stick to the agreed-upon number. You know your total cost BEFORE you start development, not after.

A Process Built Around Your Feedback

A Process Built Around Your Feedback

It's not just during the kickoff call that your input matters; it's throughout the process from wireframe to final QA pass. We're not bound to our initial draft; we're bound to the one that works for your business. The changes are made early and when they are cheap, and not after the launch when they are costly.

5

Support That Doesn't End at Launch

Websites live; they are not a deliverable we hand off and forget. From a broken checkout at midnight to a complete redesign years later when your brand outgrows its initial website, our post-launch support covers it all. There's a single point of contact throughout.

Technology Choices Matched to Your Goals

Technology Choices Matched to Your Goals

We aren't staying with a platform that we are most familiar with. We don't want to recommend that our clients use a specific stack just because we used it when we built our last website; WordPress, Shopify, custom React builds and headless are all solutions to different problems and thus serve different clients.

Our Core Web Design Services for Modern Businesses

We don't use a template because no two businesses require the same website. This is what we do at our web design and development agency.

Custom Web Design

Not a pre-built theme, but we begin with your brand, your audience, and your goals. From navigation to colour schemes, every single design decision is made based on how your actual customer navigates and purchases. We also consider what builds trust, guides visitors toward action, and makes the experience easy to use. This is the basis for all of the rest of this list and is where much of the strategy occurs before any line of code is written.

WordPress Web Design Agency Services

WordPress powers nearly 40.2% of the web because it is flexible, easy to manage, and supported by thousands of plugins. But at Agicent, we create custom themes instead of layering plugins onto a marketplace theme; this ensures your website is faster, more secure and easier to maintain. From corporate websites to a content-rich publication to a WooCommerce store, our WordPress work is designed for editors who will be adding to it long after the launch.

Shopify Web Design Agency Services

Shopify website design agency partner should understand both the storefront experience and the operational backend, from inventory sync to app integrations. We design and build custom Shopify themes, migrate stores from other platforms, and integrate the apps your fulfillment and marketing teams depend on. A Shopify web design agency that only knows the theme editor gets you a pretty storefront that breaks the moment your catalog gets complicated; so we build for that complexity from day one.

Ecommerce Web Design and Development

WooCommerce, Magento, custom-built storefronts, and headless commerce architectures - our ecommerce web design agency work covers it all. With industry conversion rates at 2.5% to 3%, a store's performance often depends on how you design the checkout, product pages, and page speed. So we offer ecommerce website design services, including product page design, checkout optimization, payment gateway integration, and mobile shopping flow for conversion.

B2B Web Design Agency Services

B2B buyers are distinct from consumers. They conduct more research, engage more decision makers, and look for a site that will provide case studies, integrations, and technical depth - rather than flashy visuals. As a B2B web design agency, we construct websites based on longer consideration periods and content architecture that allows multiple parties to visit the same website during various stages of the evaluation process.

SaaS Web Design Agency Services

A SaaS website needs to serve two purposes: first, it must be used to market a product to prospects; second, it must be used as a surface for current users to access documentation, pricing information, and other resources that enable them to get the most out of the product. So we craft pricing pages that eliminate decision fatigue, create pages that get technical jargon into the buyer's language, and build signup flows to minimize drop-off.

Website Design and Development for Every Business Type

Not all projects are a fit for "WordPress", "Shopify", or "SaaS". We are a larger website design company and also develop bespoke software and web applications, membership portals, booking and scheduling websites, real estate listing sites, healthcare patient portals, and also internal admin dashboards. We've worked with a variety of clients and are prepared to seamlessly switch between a marketing site and a functional web application.

Why Hire a Web Design Agency if AI Can Create This?

AI website builders have gotten genuinely good, and pretending otherwise doesn't help anyone make a smart decision. The 2026 industry survey reveals that almost 93% of professional designers are already using AI in their own workflow. So, the question isn't if AI can be used in web design. It's where that place ends, and it's where a pro must step in.

The Case for AI-Assisted and DIY Website Builders

Fast for a single page: Creating a landing page or a portfolio site with no real backend logic can be done in an afternoon; very handy when the need is for speed and not long-term structure.

Inexpensive on a low budget: The monthly cost to build is much less than a custom build, so that's obvious if you don't have much traffic and your business isn't yet relying on the site for income.

Good for testing out an idea: If you want to test a concept before investing real money into a full launch, then a rough builder site is a good option.

Can create simple layouts: For a relatively simple, placeholder site, generated copy and block layouts work fine, particularly for a pre-launch page to capture early emails.

Great for internal tools: If you're running a small dashboard or a one-off event page for a team of 10, it won't require quite the same investment as it would for a public-facing brand asset.

Where They Fall Apart for a Real Business

Generic output at scale: The same templates and training data give thousands of AI-generated sites the same beat; the same stock layout options; and the same predictable copy patterns. Sameness is the thing that visitors and Google see.

No logical sequence in the structure: An AI tool doesn't understand your sales cycle, your customer objections, or why your last redesign failed to convert. It's geared towards "looks finished" rather than towards your actual funnel problem.

Undebted technical debt: Common auto-generated site issues like bloated code, accessibility challenges, lack of schema markup, and weak Core Web Vitals scores become apparent months later as ranking and conversion issues.

Nobody to call when it breaks: You experience a payment integration that fails, you have a plugin conflict that crashes your checkout, or your site is marked for an SEO penalty. AI builders don't pick up that phone.

Security and compliance gaps: For businesses that depend on healthcare, fintech, and the processing of customer data on a large scale, there is no room for a builder's default security setup.

No strategy for conversion: A designer who is aware of the structures in your industry will organize a page to counter objections as a buyer will voice them. A generative tool orders sections according to statistical averages and not your customer.

The real-world answer in 2026 is a mix of both answers. We use AI internally to generate assets faster, to speed up QA and prototype layouts faster, before a human designer and developer shape, test, and refines into your actual business goals. So whether your company has real revenue, collects data, or relies on organic search for business, the professional layer is not a luxury; it's the one that's making the transactions.

Web Design Solutions Across Industries

Web Design Solutions Across Industries
Healthcare and Real Estate

Healthcare & Real Estate

Healthcare: Patient portals and telehealth interfaces designed around HIPAA-related data handling, scheduling and true usability for non-technical patients. We create workflows that are as intuitive as it gets, even though there's no extra training involved, since the cost of a confusing interface in healthcare is high compared to almost any other industry.

Real Estate: Search experiences with maps, CRM integration to capture leads, and listing platforms that help prospects stay on the page longer. We have created admin consoles that enable agents to control inventory throughout MLS feeds without having to rely on a developer at every turn in the way of updates.

E-Learning and Fintech

E-Learning & Fintech

E-Learning: Course platforms and student portals organized by completion rates rather than number of students enrolled. Our designs reflect learner's natural progression through content - dashboards surface the next step, not under layers of extra clicks and menus.

Fintech: Design and development for banking, lending and investment platforms with an emphasis on security. Each layout decision considers compliance requirements and additional review and requirements of financial data by users and regulators.

Retail, Travel, B2B, Nonprofits

Retail, Travel, B2B & Nonprofits

Retail and Ecommerce: Converted storefronts rendered across desktop, mobile and in-app browsers; checkout friction is a key factor in revenue more than nearly any other design choice. We validate these flows through actual buying processes, not assumptions.

Travel and Hospitality: Bookings designed to eliminate abandonment at the point where most travel sites drop off, usually between selecting a date and payment. Guest Management Portals and Itinerary Tools complete this area of work.

Professional Services and B2B: For longer sales cycles and multiple decision makers going through the same page at various stages in their research. This doesn't care about pretty pictures; Case studies, Integrations, and Technical depth are worth more than flashy visuals.

Nonprofits: Donation platforms and campaign sites (clunky donation form) are designed to turn goodwill into completed transactions, because most nonprofit sites lose the momentum that a good campaign has already generated elsewhere on the site.

Why Invest in Professional Web Design?

There's no abstract case for professional design - it can be observed in your users' behaviors within the weeks following your redesign in your analytics dashboards.

Trust & Conversions

Trust builds faster: One of the reasons a well-designed site can be considered more credible before a reader reads a single word of your copy is that it looks more credible before a reader visits it. Because credibility is compounded on each page of a well-designed site, it can be considered more credible before a reader reads one of your words on your site.

Conversion rates respond directly to UX quality: The more high-quality UX, the higher the conversion rates. In some instances, strong UX design can boost conversion rates by up to 400% and makes design spend one of the best uses of money that a business can make.

Retention & Performance

Bounce rates fall when friction disappears: Slightly over 38% of visitors are driven away by poor design and confusing content before having done anything of value. Resolution of structure and clarity retains more of the traffic you already pay for.

SEO performance improves alongside UX: In fact, search engines are increasingly taking Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, and structural clarity into account when ranking websites, meaning good design and good SEO are now an inseparable duo and not in competition!

Brand Unity & Scalability

Your brand gets a consistent home: All other marketing efforts, ads, email, social media, etc., will lead back to your site. The weak site undermines all the dollars invested in driving traffic to it.

Growth without a rebuild: A well-designed site can feature new product lines, new content types, and new markets without having to be destroyed and rebuilt every 18 months.

Web Design for 2026 and Beyond

The landscape of web design is constantly evolving with modern standards, search behaviors, and technology.

AI & Fragmented Search

Using AI is now a standard approach: AI is used to create assets, draft copy, and generate fast prototypes, but business context - what to build, why, and for whom - is still a human decision.

Search behavior is fragmenting: With AI chat interfaces, voice search, and the traditional search engine all contributing, structured data, clear headings, and content that answers direct questions are now more important than ever.

Performance & Accessibility

Performance expectations keep tightening: Nearly half of users are willing to wait for a page to load for less than 2 seconds and bounce rates increase by about 32% after 3 seconds of load time. The speed at which that was done three years back doesn't make the grade now.

Accessibility is shifting: With pressure from legislation and the common sense that no one should be denied access simply because of their ability, accessibility is evolving from the 'nice to have' to the 'must-have'.

Personalization & Modern Workflows

Personalization at smaller scale: It is now more possible to personalize at a micro level. Once enterprise-level tools, dynamic content based on user behavior, geographic location, or traffic source, these are now a good value even for midsize companies.

Design and development now work together: Design and development are merging earlier on in the process. What used to be the ‘design it and build it' approach, where a designer completes a static mockup and sends it to the developer, is being replaced by collaborative building, with design decisions validated immediately by actual technical limitations.

And, yes, all the basics still matter. A website needs to load quickly, communicate clearly, and help visitors take the right action. What has changed is the tools and ways teams build websites. A good web design partner understands both the basics and the latest tools to create a website that can grow with your business.

Case Studies on Our Web Design Work

The proof is in the sites we've shipped and how they have performed with actual customers using them. Here are some engagements where every design decision had a clear impact on the measurable - whether it was quicker load times or the complete conversion and brand transformation.

01
AD-TECH PLATFORM

BTYB: Building an Ad-Tech Platform From a Blank Page

Overview:

The founder of BTYB had long been observing the advertising dollars that small businesses spent on ads that enabled them to verify very little of a click was genuine. He wanted a social ad platform that had engagement, where advertisers only paid for verified clicks. Agicent joined in July 2025, which was a greenfield build with no legacy code and no existing product to patch.

Solution & Outcome:

We designed and built the entire experience from scratch: a social-feed interface that allows people to browse ads as they would content, four-tier subscription paywalls, a boost promotion system, and a fraud-checked click tracking layer that runs under all of this. Both native iOS and Android apps are also built from the same design system, ensuring that the brand looks the same to users regardless of whether they are using an iPhone or an Android device or interacting through the web.
Outcome: A live, App Store compatible ad-tech platform, built from scratch, with a fraud detection system, tiered subscriptions, and a real-time engagement dashboard.

02
RESUME BUILDER PLATFORM

SeekrCareers: Designing a Resume Builder People ACTUALLY Finish

Overview:

The challenge we received from SeekrCareers was that there was a problem to solve: job seekers were getting lost in the sea of resumes with no direction. After 35 years combined, Khaleelah and James, the founders of this site, sought a platform that would have beautifully designed templates and be approved by ATS while also being easy to use in the heat of the moment.

Solution & Result:

It's a PHP web application with a MySQL backend, hosted on AWS to scale with usage, and we were designed to be intuitive and easy to use, tutoring users on the fly from a blank page to a finished resume. Multi-format downloads, curated job listings and real CV examples for inspiration rounded out the experience.
Result Job seekers can find a resume that gets them past the ATS in mere minutes with resume templates that are designed to pass ATS filters the first time.

03
HEALTHCARE PLATFORM

IRTH: Redesigning a Healthcare Platform Without Losing Its Community

Overview:

IRTH had created a valuable space for women of color to critique maternity care providers and challenge the system's bias! However, the original native iOS and Android apps with Ruby on Rails backend were struggling to cope with all the new feature requests.

Solution & Result:

Agicent rebuilt it as a single cross-platform application on React Native / Node.js, keeping all the previous users and all that one-star rating. We redesigned the user experience in response to real user behaviour, created an admin console for the Irth team to have complete control over content and moderation, and added multilingual support to ensure that the reviews could be accessed by English- and Spanish-speaking mothers.
Result: Irth got a Featured App award from Apple, grew their global audience into multiple languages, and now pushes new updates every sprint directly thanks to the rebuild.

Common Web Design Mistakes We Help Clients Avoid

After 17 years of servicing clients, we've noticed the same few things crop up again and again, even in well-meaning businesses that otherwise are very up on what they are doing.

01

Designing for the Business, Not the Visitor

A home page that focuses on internal structures and product hierarchies, rather than the questions that first-time visitors have. We prioritize the user experience based on what visitors are looking for before our organizational structure.

02

Treating Mobile as an Afterthought

Mobile optimization now shows up on 62% of top-ranking websites, which tells you where the baseline sits. The responsive layout, which just shrinks, is not the same as being built from the start to be used with thumbs and short attention spans.

03

Ignoring Page Speed Until It's a Crisis

It's estimated that retailers lose an estimated $2.6 billion annually, with 39% of users leaving a page when it takes too long to load images. So optimize image compression, code splitting, and hosting configuration prior to launch, not after the client's bounce rate starts rising.

04

Skipping Accessibility

In addition to legal liability, a lack of accessibility simply denies real customers access. Semantic HTML is the standard way we build, as are proper contrast ratios and keyboard navigation, not an add-on.

05

Poor CTA and No Plan for Content Updates

Websites without a proper CMS strategy fall flat quickly, as all changes to the content have to be made by a developer. Also, a well-designed page still needs to guide visitors on what to do next. So we create workflows that your team can use to edit.

06

Over-Customizing Without a Reason

Animations that slow the site down, strange ways to navigate that add to the user's confusion, and unnecessary additions that make it harder to use the site, but do not make it better: novelty for its own sake.

07

Neglecting Post-Launch Iteration

There is no such thing as a "done" website. The most successful businesses that profit most from their site see it as a starting line and not a finish line, and continue to test and refine according to real visitor behaviour.

Our Web Design Process: From Idea to Launch

A good website isn't built with a homepage mockup but rather with the correct goal in mind. It begins with research, and the procedure below is the one we've honed on hundreds of client engagements.

01

Discovery and Competitive Research

We research your audience, your competition and the objections your sales team hears more than often and then translate those findings into a content plan and structure without any visual design. This stage will typically involve interviewing the stakeholders and reviewing 3 to 5 direct competitors; thus, the plan will be based on your current market and not just a checklist.

02

Sitemap and Information Architecture

We know exactly what pages of our website are, how they are related to each other, and what they must do for our visitors at a particular point in the decision process. You have a visual representation of this that goes under the name of reviewing and approving before we start writing wireframes; it's a much easier and cheaper process to restructure a sitemap than it is to restructure a completed page after the fact.

03

Wireframing

Low-fidelity layouts allow us to test structure and flow without the effort of visual polish, and can be revised at low cost and low time. At this stage, we usually go through the process of 2-3 rounds of feedback, which we are able to have because they're still boxes on a screen.

04

Visual Design

We know what your audience wants from the discovery phase, which is then used to inform typography, color, imagery, and micro-interactions that are created around your brand identity. Will see fully developed comps for the homepage, service page, and contact pages before we roll out the system throughout the site.

05

Development

As much as possible, Front-end and back-end build takes place in parallel, depending on the technology you use to accomplish the project, be it WordPress, Shopify, your own React/Next.js build, or another. We build against a staging environment to enable you to click through the same functionality as you will at launch, but not static previews.

06

Content and SEO Integration

On-page SEO, schema markup, metadata, and content placement are incorporated into the site from the ground up instead of added on post-launch. This involves keyword mapping of key pages and an internal linking structure (all done during, not at the end of development).

07

QA and Cross-Device Testing

We TEST across browsers, screen sizes, and devices; one thing is certain: if a site looks great on a designer's laptop and breaks on a mid-range phone, then it has failed its real job. Our checklist includes form submission, page speed, broken links, and rendering for the browser and device combinations your audience is using.

08

Launch

With a rollback plan, deployment, DNS, and final performance checks will occur and launch day won't become a stressful afternoon. Launches are scheduled during low-traffic times if possible, and the site is closely monitored for 24 to 48 hours.

09

Post-Launch Support

Once the site is live, monitor, update, patch security and continue improving based on real user experience. We usually log in 30 and 90 days after the launch and look at analytics and suggest changes based on visitor behaviour.
